Welcome to Eskbridge Medical Centre

Eskbridge Medical Centre serves the postal district of EH21. This website is both for existing patients and those considering registering with the practice and gives you an insight into our practice and the services we provide and how to access them.

Our team includes 7 GPs, 1 Registrar, 1 Women’s Retainer doctor, 2 practice nurses, two phlebotomists, Attached district nurses, 2 attached health visitors as well as our practice manager and secretarial and reception staff.

We hold a General Medical Services (GMS) Contract with Lothian NHS Board, Stevenson House, 555 Gorgie Road, Edinburgh.

We aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence.

Eskbridge Medical Centre is a “training practice”. This means hospital doctors wanting to enter general practice spend 1 year working with us in order to gain the experience they need to become a GP.

We also have undergraduate fifth year medical students from the University of Edinburgh who are undergoing experience in general practice with us. 

We hope that all our patients will co-operate with us and help our students and registrars learn about General Practice. You will be informed of their presence in advance of your consultation and should you not wish them to be present your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way. As a training practice your medical records may be used for education purposes.   Some consultations with the GP registrar or medical student may be videod for teaching purposes with your written permission and you should feel at liberty to decline this if you so wish.

Teaching registrars and medical students is vital in the recruitment of vitally  needed new doctors into general practice.  We consider it a privilege to have them and we hope that our patients are able to share that experience with us.
